Eagles Begin Fall Season at Bulldog Invitational and All-American Championships

Three players head to California to compete on national stage
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis program officially begins the fall season this weekend at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Yale from Friday (Sept. 28) to Sunday (Sept. 30). Three Eagles will also be heading to California to compete in the ITA Women's All-American Championships at Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades beginning next Tuesday (Oct. 2).

Friday (Sept. 28) vs. UMass, 1 p.m.
Saturday (Sept. 29) vs. Harvard, 10 a.m.
Sunday (Sept. 30) vs. Cornell, 9 a.m.

YEAR IN REVIEW
• Last season, BC earned dominant 6-1 victories over UMass and Harvard but did not face Cornell
• The Eagles finished above .500 overall at 13-11 with a 5-9 mark in the ACC
• Boston College went 8-3 at home during the 2017-18 campaign, including wins over conference rivals No. 44 Clemson, No. 48 Louisville, Wake Forest, and its first-ever victory over Notre Dame
• Two years ago, BC won two rounds in the ACC Tournament to reach the quarterfinals

• Iowa transfer Yufei Long begins her first season at The Heights with the No. 116 ITA singles ranking and will compete in the qualifying round on Tuesday
• Last year with the Hawkeyes, she posted a 12-2 singles record, including a 4-1 mark from the No. 1 position
• Long is one of three newcomers to the program along with freshmen Marion Conklin and Laura Lopez
• Senior captain Jackie Urbinati and junior Kylie Wilcox are set to begin the doubles competition the same day
• The duo finished last season featuring among the team's top-4 singles players
