
Eagles Announce 2018-19 Schedule

Regular season includes 16 games at Conte Forum
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's ice hockey team announced its schedule for the upcoming season today. The 2018-19 slate is highlighted by a 27-game Hockey East slate and non-conference match-ups with Minnesota Duluth, St. Lawrence and Syracuse to start the season.

The Eagles – ranked No. 4 in the USCHO.com Preseason Poll – will be seeking a fifth consecutive Hockey East regular season championship as well as a fourth consecutive Women's Beanpot title. This year's tournament will be held at Harvard, the Eagles' first round opponent.

Boston College opens up the 2018-19 season with a pair of games at No. 9 Minnesota Duluth Sept. 28-29. The Bulldogs and Eagles have met in each of the last three seasons with BC going 4-1-1 in six contests with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association school. The team then starts the Conte Forum slate with a Saturday meeting against Syracuse on Oct. 6. Boston College continues its season-long five-game homestand with two games against St. Lawrence, Oct. 11-12, before beginning Women's Hockey East play Oct. 19-20 against Merrimack and Vermont, respectively.

On Oct. 26, the Eagles will travel to face the newest conference member, Holy Cross, in the first-ever Hockey East home game for the Crusaders. Two days later, it's off to Maine to face the Black Bears in a Sunday matinee at Alfond Arena. The Eagles will host Connecticut on Nov. 1, travel to Providence on Nov. 3 and then play a home-and-home with Connecticut Nov. 16-17.

The Comm Ave rivalry will be renewed on Nov. 20 when Boston University visits Conte Forum. Two away games – at Holy Cross on Nov. 24 and at No. 8 Northeastern on Nov. 27 – precede the annual home-and-home series with the Terriers the weekend of Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The fall semester will wrap up with a pair of games against Merrimack, first at the Heights on Dec. 7 and then in North Andover on Dec. 8.

New Hampshire awaits Boston College on Jan. 5 for the first game after the holiday break before the home-and-home with Northeastern Jan. 11-12. It's then off to Vermont for two games Jan. 18-19 before facing off against Providence at Conte on Jan. 25 and then at Schneider Arena on Jan. 26. The Eagles wrap up the regular season series with Holy Cross with a home game on Feb. 1.

The 41st Women's Beanpot begins on Feb. 5, with Northeastern and BU battling in the first game before the Eagles take on the host Crimson at 8 p.m. The championship and consolation games will be played at Bright Hockey Center on Feb. 12, with the first game face-off set for 4:30 p.m. and the championship scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Between Beanpot Tuesdays, BC will host New Hampshire on Feb. 8. The Eagles will host the Black Bears for two games Feb. 14-15, closing out the regular season home slate against the visitors from Maine. The regular season wraps up in earnest with a game at New Hampshire on Feb. 23.

The Women's Hockey East Quarterfinals are set for the weekend of March 1-3 at campus sites. Â

Boston College, who will be captained by a trio of seniors, returns eight of its top 10 scorers from a season ago, including reigning Patty Kazmaier Award winner, Daryl Watts. The defensive corps will benefit from the return of Megan Keller, Kali Flanagan and Cayla Barnes.

The Eagles finished the 2017-18 season with a 30-5-3 record, the third-best mark in program history, and a 19-2-3 mark in Hockey East play. Boston College won its fifth straight Hockey East regular-season title and third Beanpot crown in a row before drawing its 10th NCAA Tournament berth in program history. BC led all Division I programs nationally in scoring, posting 4.08 goals per game.
