Haverhals Named to Preseason All-ACC Team

The senior captain has earned All-Conference recognition for the upcoming season while the Eagles were predicted to finish sixth in the ACC.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.:Â Senior back Frederique Haverhals was named to the preseason All-ACC team for the second consecutive year as announced by the conference on Friday.
Haverhals, a Warmond, the Netherlands native, has been a critical part of the Eagles' lineup during her career on the Heights. The two-time captain has been a constant presence on both the attacking and defensive corners, being a member of the starting lineup every game of her career.
As a junior captain, she earned NFHCA Third-Team All-America honors, was named to the NFHCA First-Team All-Northeast Region, and collected All-ACC Second-Team honors while starting all 19 games at center back. As a sophomore, she was an NFHCA First-Team All-American, named to the NFHCA First-Team All-Northeast Region, and was an All-ACC Second-Team selection while starting in all 20 match-ups for the Eagles and finishing fourth on the team in scoring with 17 points. Starting all 22 games of her rookie year, she was named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Region Second-Team. She led her freshmen class in points and ranked fourth in the ACC in defensive saves with three.
In the classroom, she has been named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, the ACC Honor Roll and All-ACC Academic Team each year of her career, as well as earning the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement as a freshman and sophomore.
The Eagles were chosen to finish sixth in the conference and begin their season at Quinnipiac on August 24.
