Former Eagle standout joins field hockey coaching staff
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College field hockey head coach Kelly Doton announced today the addition of Leah Settipane to her coaching staff for the 2018 season. A former standout goalkeeper for the Eagles, Settipane will return to The Heights as an assistant coach.
As a student-athlete, Settipane quickly climbed to the top of the BC record books and remains the programs' all-time winningest goalkeeper with 48 career wins. She earned 2015 All-America Second Team honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). She also was an NFHCA Northeast Region Second Team All-American in 2014 and 2015 and was named to the All-ACC Second Team in 2014. She currently holds the ninth-best save percentage in program history (.750). She also ranks third in career shutouts in program history (15.1).
Doton is thrilled to have Settipane return to the program and have her work with the program's defense and goalkeepers.
"Leah had an outstanding career in her four years on The Heights," said Doton. "The ability for Jonna (Kennedy) and Sarah (Dwyer) to work with the all-time winningest goalkeeper in the history of the program is pretty special. Anytime you can have an alumna come back and be a part of the program is great. Leah has been in their shoes."
The Eagles report for preseason training on Aug.7 and begin the season at Quinnipiac on Aug. 24 at 3:00 pm.Â
