Get To Know Rookie Jenasae Bishop

Jenasae Bishop is from Hammond, Indiana. She is the first BC player to be a native from the Hoosier State since Kelsey Reynolds (Michawaka, Ind.), who was on the 2009-10 roster. Bishop is a 5-foot-6, point guard who loves to drive to the basket. She played her high school ball at East Chicago Central High School and averaged 24.4 points a game. She broke the East Chicago Central women's basketball scoring record with 1,763 career points.

Q - For those that don't know much about your game, what kind of player are you and what will you try to bring to the court for the Eagles?
A - I love to attack the basket and get my team involved. I'm going to try my best to bring a lot of energy.
Q - Is there one player you model your game after?
A - I love watching Kyrie Irving play. He's an explosive player on the court and fearless. He's also unstoppable getting to the basket.
Q - What WNBA player would you love to play one-on-one against?
A - If I ever had a chance I would love to play against Skylar Diggins Smith (Dallas Wings).
Q - What are you most looking forward to this season?
A - I'm looking forward to grow closer to teammates and coaches. I also plan on winning and having a great time.
Q - Do you have any pregame rituals?
A - I have I pray to God before every game.
Q - If you did not play basketball, what other sport would you want to play at BC?
A - I played volleyball in gym class and had fun. I was pretty good at it so I would probably play it if I could.
Q – Who has had an impact on the development of your game?
A - My mother and father, Naomi and Kendell both set of grandparents and the rest of my family. It was a lot of coaches that have had a substantial impact on my game as well.
Q - What kinds of things do you enjoy doing when you are away from basketball?
A - I'll be honest, I love to shop.
What parts of your game that you plan on working on this summer?
A - I am going to use the summer to work on my jump shot.
Q – What have you and your teammates done away from the campus that has been fun?
A - We went downtown to Boston for the fourth of July fireworks.
