Matt Naumec Selected to Field of NCAA Golf Championship

The junior will play May 14-16 in the regional round at the OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Matt Naumec was selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Golf Championship, it was announced today as part of the tournament's selection show which aired live nationally on the Golf Channel.
Naumec will head to Columbus, Ohio from May 14-16 and will play at the OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course. The junior is one of 10 individuals to play at this regional site. In total, six 54-hole regional tournaments will be held. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championship finals from each regional site.
The junior from WIlbraham, Mass. was BC's top golfer in seven of nine tournaments this season and registered six top 10 finishes. He finished second overall twice - at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate and at the Clemson Invitational. Last time out at the ACC Championship, Naumec placed 21st overall, shooting 4-under (71-72-69=212).
He led the Eagles in stroke average (71.38) had fired a season-low 64 (-8) at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate in October. His second round 65 (-7) set a new course standard at the Clemson Invitational in mid-April.
