Naumec Competes in Day One of NCAA Championship

The junior tees off tomorrow morning in the second round at OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Matt Naumec sits in a tie for 51st place after the first round of play at the Columbus regional of the NCAA Golf Championship.
Naumec carded an opening round 77 (+6) at the OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course (par 71/7,364 yards). The junior posted 10 pars and birdied the par 4 16th hole during Monday's round - which was halted for a little over an hour due to lightning.
He played with fellow individuals David Kocher (Maryland), Patrick Flavin (Miami Ohio), Alex Schaake (Iowa), and Kyle Mueller (Michigan).  Illinois' Michael Feagles is the leader after day one, with a 3-under 68.
The second round of play at the Columbus regional gets underway tomorrow morning. Naumec tees off at 9:42 am ET from the first tee.
