Select members competed in their first outdoor meet of the season at NC State
RALEIGH, N.C. – Select members of the Boston College women's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31.

Senior Molly McCabe had a strong performance at the meet for BC, competing in the 400 meter run, 800 meter run and the 4x400 meter relay. She took 14th in the 400, finished in sixth place in the 800 and helped lead the 4x400 meter relay team to a fourth place finish.

BC will race in its second meet of the outdoor season when it travels to Williamsburg, Va. to participate in the Colonial Relays at William and Mary beginning on Friday, April 6.

BC Highlights:
- Â Freshman Lauren White was the top BC finisher in the 5000 meter run, crossing the line in 17:18.47.
- Classmate Jessica Creedon crossed the line first for BC in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.40.
- Senior Johanna Celli took fifth place in the 400 meter run with a time of 56.39 in a field of 65 runners. McCabe finished in the top 20, crossing the line in 57.29 for 14th place overall.
- McCabe also competed in the 800 meter run and she finished the race in 2:10.20 to earn sixth place overall.
- Freshman Miranda Thompson was the top BC finisher in the 1500 meter run, crossing the line in 4:36.96.
- The spring medley relay team of freshman Anne Leahy, freshman Jessica Creedon, senior Shannon Ahern and junior Gianna Bender took fifth place overall out of eight teams with a time of 4:05.40.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Celli, Ahern, sophomore Monica Heil and McCabe finished in fourth place with a time of 3:47.72.
- The 4x1500 meter relay team of senior Julia Gregory, freshman Anna Flynn, classmate Emily Criscuolo and junior Delia Hayes took sixth place in the event with a time of 19:13.28.
- Creedon tied for sixth place in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters. The rookies also finished in the top 20 in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.86.
- Sophomore Amanda Sinkewicz took eighth place in the javelin throw, throwing 42.08 meters.
