Ella Morgan Headed to the 2018 NCAA Championships

Morgan earns an at-large bid with a 14th place finish at regionals
The Boston College fencing team competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional on Sunday at Brandeis University.
Women's Recap
- Senior Ella Morgan finished 14th in epee. She was the 10th seed prior to the regional tournament. She has earned an at-large bid for the NCAAs, which was announced on Tuesday. Morgan will head to Penn State to compete in the NCAA Championship in epee on March 22-25.
- Three sabre fencers advanced to the semifinal round – junior Laura Donovan (16th place), sophomore Gabrielle Chau (18th place) and freshman Crystal Chen (19th place).
Men's Recap
- Foilist Justin Herman advanced to the final round of the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships and finished 12th overall. The freshman was seeded 23rd overall coming into the event.
- Fellow foilist Cameron Mayer, a junior, finished in a tie for 14th and just missed the cut to make the final.
- In men's epee, Udaypaul Chilana advanced to the semifinal round and finished 17th overall. Chilana, a freshman, was ranked 29th coming into the event.
