Eagles Top Local Opponent Harvard

This is the third win over an Ivy League Opponent
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team came out on top, 6-1, against local foe Harvard in Cambridge Saturday afternoon.
"I thought both teams played well today", said head coach Nigel Bentley. "It was a hard fought match. The doubles point was huge. We saved some match points there and this gave us a lot of momentum heading into singles. We talk a lot about staying calm, believing in yourself and finding a way. We did a really good job executing our game plan in crunch time in doubles and in the third sets in singles."
This is BC's second straight win over an Ivy League team, and its third in dual season.
The Eagles started off hot after winning a close doubles point from the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, thanks to sophomore Kylie Wilcox and junior Jackie Urbinati, and senior Asiya Dair and freshman Natasha Irani, respectively.
At the No. 3 and No. 4 singles, Irani and Urbinati picked up two-set wins to bring the Maroon and Gold lead to 3-0.
Wilcox slated a win at the No. 2 spot, while junior Elene Tsokilauri triumphed at the No. 5 position. Freshman Loren Haukova rounded out the Eagles' points with her win at the No. 6 spot.
Up next, the Eagles will travel to Providence, R.I. to challenge Brown Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m.
