No. 12/9 Florida State Hands Eagles A Road Loss

Eagles to play at Syracuse on Sunday
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Boston College women's basketball team dropped a road game to ACC foe, Florida State, 67-39, at the Tucker Center on Thursday night.
Boston College is now 7-21 overall and 2-13 in the ACC. FSU is now 23-5 overall and 11-4 in the conference.
BC kept pace with the Seminoles in the first half as the Eagles shot 42 percent in the first half and held a 27-25 lead. Freshman Sydney Lowery and graduate senior Andie Anastos led the offense as they combined for 12 of the Eagles 16 points in the second quarter.
Florida State took control of the game in the second half as outscored BC 42-12 in the second half. FSU went on a 13-0 run to start the third quarter and BC never recovered.

BC HIGHLIGHT
- Boston College freshman Milan Bolden-Morris became the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made by a rookie when she hit a three at the 7:44 minute mark of the first quarter. She needed one three-pointer to pass former Eagles guard Kelly Hughes who made 74 as a rookie.
- BC graduate senior Andie Anastos led the Eagles with nine points while sophomore Georgia Pineau had seven points and five rebounds.
- Boston College took a quick 9-0 lead to start the game behind three-pointers from Taylor Ortlepp, Milan Bolden-Morris and Georgia Pineau. The run forced Florida State to call an early timeout. The Seminoles shot back with a 14-0 run until Pineau's jumper halted the run with 2:21 to play in the quarter. The Eagles were down, 16-11 after the quarter.
- The second quarter BC shot 53 percent from the floor and took a 27-25 lead at the half behind five points from rookie Sydney Lowery and seven from graduate senior Andie Anastos.
- Florida State opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run sparked by eight points from Nickie Ekhomu. A freebie by Sydney Lowery stopped the run but BC was down, 42-30 with 2:32 left. BC was outscored 22-7 in the quarter as FSU took a 47-34 lead entering the fourth quarter.
- Boston College was outscored, 20-5, in the final quarter and shot just 22 percent from the floor.
- After just seven turnovers in the first half, Boston College lost the ball 12 times in the second half, which resulted in 26 points off turnovers.
- Boston College will travel to Syracuse for the final regular season game on Sunday at 2 p.m. Following the game, BC will return home only to head out Monday afternoon for the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.
