Berman, Leipzig and Coffey Named to All-ACC Academic Team

Berman is a two-time All-ACC Academic honoree.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three Boston College women's soccer players were named to the 2017 Women's Soccer All-ACC Academic Team, which the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Thursday.
Senior Lauren Berman, junior Carly Leipzig and freshman Sam Coffey were all recognized with a spot on the 50-player team named by the conference.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
This is Berman's second time being named to the All-ACC Academic team. A native of Canton, Mass., Berman was BC's second leading scorer with seven goals, three assists for 17 points. In her three years at Boston College, Berman started 59 games, notched 14 goals, 15 assists for 43 career points with four game-winning goals.
Leipzig, a junior, had her breakout season as she started six of 20 games, notched five goals, one assist for 11 points. She played a career-high 853 minutes and scored the game-winning goal vs. Miami on Oct. 8. This is the first All-ACC Academic selection for the native of Allendale, New Jersey.
Coffey, a rookie, led the Eagles in scoring with five goals, 10 assists for 20 points. The BC midfielder finished the season by registering a point in the final four games. She also had a one goal, three assist game in the win over Colgate on Aug. 27. Coffey notched her first career game-winning goal against Louisville on Sept. 17.
A native of Sleepy Hollow, New York, Coffey was a member of the US National Under-20 team which recently qualified for the U-20 World Cup.
