Woll stops 64 of 65 shots against BU, Pineau helps women's basketball move to 7-1
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's hockey junior Joseph Woll and women's basketball junior Georgia Pineau have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances this past weekend.
Woll stopped 64 of 65 shots he faced this weekend in two games against rival Boston University. The junior made a season-high 38 saves on Friday night in a 4-1 win at Agganis Arena. On Saturday, he posted his fourth career shutout with 26 saves in a 0-0 stalemate at Kelley Rink, marking the first time in 279 contests that Boston College and Boston University skated to a scoreless tie. Woll posted a .985 save percentage and a 0.48 goals against average in the two games, with both marks serving as the best of any goaltender in the nation who played two games.
Pineau helped the Eagles move to 7-1 on the year with a 74-60 win over Columbia on Sunday afternoon. The Victoria, Australia native had 16 points and nine rebounds against the Lions to go with a three-rebound, four-point effort against Providence earlier in the week. The junior is averaging 10 points and 6.1 rebounds a game for the Eagles. Pineau has scored in double-digits in five of eight games this season.
