CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College freshman Marnelle Garraud was named the ACC Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.
A native of Lynn, Mass., Garraud was named the MVP of the 25th Annual Hawk Classic hosted by St. Joseph's this past weekend. She was also named Eagle of the Week this afternoon.
The Eagles guard averaged 19 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two games. On Sunday in the final against Rider, BC won, 112-61, setting a new tournament scoring record in a final at the Hawk Classic. Garraud led all scorers with a career-high 28 points, on 8-for-12 shooting from the floor and 4-for-7 from the three-point line. She also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
