Gote, Haverhals, Van de Mierop Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

Trio of defenders earn NFHCA All-Northeast Region honors following the 2018 season.

GILBERT, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has recognized three Eagles with All-Northeast Region Honors following the 2018 season. Seniors Ymke Rose Gote and Frederique Haverhals were named to the First Team while freshman Eva Van de Mierop was named to the Second Team.

The trio of defenders combined for 55 starting positions and 10 goals over the season. Haverhals, tallying nine of those goals, has received NFHCA All-Northeast Region honors each year of her career, previously being named to the Second Team as a freshman before finding a spot on the First Team as a sophomore and junior. She is the first student-athlete to earn four-time honors since Bob Dirks (2005-08). Gote, a key part of the Eagles' backfield, was also named to the First Team in 2016 and 2017. Van de Mierop is the first rookie to garner All-Region honors for Boston College since Haverhals in 2015.
