
Bowman, Garraud Named Eagles of the Week

Both student-athletes earned MVP honors, team titles for men's and women's basketball.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's basketball junior Ky Bowman and women's basketball freshman Marnelle Garraud have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances this past weekend.

Bowman averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assist and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Fort Myers Tipoff Tournament, helping BC capture its first in-season tournament title since 2005. The guard poured in a career-high 38 points in the semifinal round against Wyoming, connecting on 14-of-22 from the floor and 7-of-12 from beyond the arc while adding seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Bowman's 38 points marked the most points scored by an ACC player in a single game this season while his seven three pointers tied for the most by an ACC player in a single game this season. In the title game of the tournament, Bowman added 12 points, four boards, five assists and two steals against Loyola Chicago.

Garraud averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games on her way to being named the Hawk Classic Tournament Most Valuable Player. In Saturday's 73-47 win over Loyola (Md.), the freshman had 10 points and six rebounds before notching a career-high 28 points in Sunday's 112-61 win over Rider in the title game. She was 8-of-12 shooting and 4-for-7 from the three-point line. After the two-win weekend, the Eagles are now 6-0 on the year. Â
