Doton Welcomes Five for Class of 2023

The field hockey team has five incoming freshman to kickstart the 2019 campaign
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Head Coach Kelly Doton and the Boston College field hockey team are excited to welcome five new student-athletes to the Heights to join the team in 2019 – Margo Carlin, Darcy Clement, Lauren Curran, Kendall Hanlon and Autumn Littlefield.
"We are excited to welcome Autumn, Darcy, Kendall, Lauren, and Margo to the BCFH family," shared head coach Kelly Doton. "Each player brings a unique skill set which will help with our overall versatility as a team. We bring in freshmen to compete for playing time right away and these five will do that next fall. I know they can't wait to get to campus and put on the Eagle uniform."
Margo Carlin – Drexel Hill, Pa. – Merion Mercy Academy – Midfield/Forward
Captain as a senior despite missing season due to injury … started every year she was healthy … four-year letter-winner at Merion Mercy … led team to a District Championship and State Championship appearance as a sophomore … played for WC Eagles in Spring City, Pa. for coaches Richard and Jun Kentwell, where the team was 2016 and 2017 NIT Pool and NCC Champions … Margo is the daughter of Suzanne and Leo Carlin … has three older siblings, Karleigh (24), Leo (22) and Keenan (21) … mother played field hockey at Providence … father played football at Holy Cross … sister played field hockey at Kent State … enrolled in the Lynch School of Education as an Elementary Education major … also played lacrosse.
Darcy Clement – Crofton, Md. – South River HS -- Forward/Midfield
Four year letterwinner for South River under coach Megan Atkinson … State Champion team 2016 and 2017 … also played for Freedom Hockey for seven years under coach Sarah Dawson, where the team placed fourth at the 2016 U16 National Club Championship … attended 2015, 2016 and 2017 National Club Championship and National Indoor Tournaments … ranked second in the nation for the U19 age group in 2018 … NFHCA Academic All-American … First-Team All-County 2017 … Second-Team All-State (2017) … First-Team Washington All-Metro 2017 … Second-Team Baltimore All-Metro 2017 … captained both high school and club team … selected to National Futures Championship each year between 2014-17 … selected to 2015 and 2016 AAU Junior Olympics … 2017 Max Field Hockey Top-50 2019's … 2018 Max Field Hockey Top-100 2019's … Darcy is the daughter of Lisa and James Clement … has one sister, Emma (21) … mother went to Penn State and father went to University of Tennessee.
Lauren Curran – Media, Pa. – Academy of Notre Dame – Midfield/Forward
Four year letterwinner at Notre Dame under Adele Williams … earned All-Delco and All Main Line Honorable Mentions in 2016 … PAISAA Champions 2016, 17 … Delco Player of the Year 2017 … First Team All-Delco, All-League, All-Main Line, All-Region Max Field Hockey 2017 … Second Team All-American Max Field Hockey 2017 … NFHCA Pennsylvania Regional Player of the Month (Sept. 2018) … Philahockey Senior All-Star selection 2018 … also played for WC Eagles under Jun and Richard Kentwell … National Indoor Tournament Champions 2015 and 2016 … Disney Champion 2015 … National Club Champion, National Futures Runner-Up, Junior Olympic selection 2016 … also played ice hockey and lacrosse … enrolled in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences as a biology major … Lauren is the daughter of Sue and John Curran … is a triplet with siblings Francis and Andrew.
Kendall Hanlon – New Vernon, N.J. – Oak Knoll School – Midfield/Forward
Played for Oak Knoll under coach Ali Good … four-year varsity starter … also played for New Heights FH Club under coach Ahmed Elmaghraby … team earned second place at the National Club Championship in 2017 and third in 2015 … ranked No. 3 in the country by Max Field Hockey for 2018 high school season … NJ State Champions 2015 and 2017 … NJ Tournament of Champions Champion 2017 … First-Team All-State NJ Non-Public 2017 … Third-Team All-State 2017 … First-Team All-County 2017 … First-Team All-Conference 2017 … Second-Team All-Region by Max Field Hockey 2017 … captained high school team as a senior … earned AP Scholar Award and NFHCA All-Academic Squad honors … member of the French National Honor Society … Kendall is the daughter of Janet and John Hanlon … father, John, wrested at Boston College and was inducted into the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1996 … mother attended Seton Hall University and is now an attorney … has three older siblings, Brett (25), Gabrielle (23) and Troy (21) … also played soccer and lacrosse.
Autumn Littlefield – Sidney, Maine – Messalonskee HS – Midfield/Forward
Tallied 51 goals and 25 career assists over her career at Messalonskee under head coach Katie McLaughlin … also played for Maine Majestix under Amy Bernatchez and Kelly Terwilliger … All-State as a junior and senior … Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore … All-Rookie team as a freshman … All-Conference team as a sophomore, junior and senior … Team Captain as a junior and senior … Team MVP as a senior … Morning Sentinel Player of the Year as a sophomore … Northern Maine Championship runner-up team as a freshman, sophomore and junior … member of the National Honor Society as a junior and senior … President of National Honor Society as a senior … student council President as a senior … also played lacrosse and ran track … enrolled in the Carroll School of Management … Autumn is the daughter of Dwight and Kristie Littlefield and has one sister, Addison.
