Burke earns second at NEICAAA Championships, Coffey nets two game-winning goals

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College cross country senior Sean Burke and women's soccer sophomore Sam Coffey have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances this past week.

Burke placed second overall among 171 runners at the New England (NEICAAA) Cross Country Championship. The Pleasanton, Calif. native finished the eight-kilometer course in 24:34.8. Behind his 4:56.7 mile splits, Burke was the first Eagle across the finish line for the third time this season. As a team, BC finished 10th with 244 points.

Coffey scored four goals in two games this week for the Eagles, netting both of the game-winning goals in wins over Virginia Tech and NC State. On Thursday night, the sophomore scored her first career hat trick in a 3-0 win over the Hokies. Sunday saw Coffey score her ACC-leading ninth goal of the season and her fourth game-winning goal of the year in the Eagles' 2-0 win.
