
Apuzzo, Arsenault to Play Alongside Coach Treanor for IWLCA President's Cup

Trio will represent Team USA in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. in November
SPARKS, Md. – Sam Apuzzo and Dempsey Arsenault, senior captains of the Boston College women's lacrosse team, were named to the U.S. Women's National Training Team and 2018 IWLCA President's Cup Roster. The pair will play alongside assistant coach Kayla Treanor, a 2016 Syracuse graduate who helped head coach Acacia Walker to bring the team to their second consecutive NCAA Championship game appearance last year.
Apuzzo, the reigning Tewaaraton Award winner and lone Eagle to receive the award in school history, led the team with 88 goals, 41 assists and 129 points over the season. She was named the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year as a junior and currently holds ÂÂÂtop-five program career records in points (273), goals (189), assists (84) and draw controls (267). Her junior season marked individual season program records in points, goals, assists and draw controls. She ended 2018 with the third-most goals scored in the NCAA.
Arsenault contributed 64 goals and 39 assists over her junior season, putting her at fifth all-time for individual season goals and third for assists.
Apuzzo and Arsenault combined for 152 of the Eagles' goals of 2018. Both garnered IWLCA All-America First Team honors and were named to the All-ACC Tournament team. Â
The President's Cup will take place in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., from Nov. 16-18 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Team USA will play an intrasquad contest before taking on select teams from the United Women's Lacrosse League and the Women's Lacrosse Professional League.
