
No. 2 Wake Forest Next Road Test Up for Eagles

BC seeking its third straight win.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team hits the road on Friday, Oct. 12, when the Eagles travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on No. 2 Wake Forest. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra, which is accessible via WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app.
Boston College (4-3-3, 2-3-0 ACC) comes into Friday's game looking for a third consecutive win. The Eagles topped Harvard, 1-0, on Tuesday night and last week, took down then-ranked No. 17 NC State, 1-0.
The Demon Deacons, who are coming off a 4-2 win over High Point on Tuesday night, started the season with 11 consecutive wins before falling to Syracuse, 2-0, last Friday. Wake Forest has won the last five meetings between the Eagles and Demon Deacons.
Boston College will remain on the road on Tuesday night, traveling to Storrs, Conn. to battle the UConn Huskies in a non-conference game.

ABOUT WAKE FOREST
• The second-ranked Demon Deacons are coming off a 4-2 win over High Point on Tuesday night at home.
• After starting the season 11 consecutive wins, Wake Forest suffered its first loss on Friday, Oct. 5, falling at Syracuse, 2-0.
• Aside from losing to the Orange on Friday night, the Deacs have topped NC State (3-0), Virginia Tech (2-1), Clemson (3-0), and Duke (4-2) in league play.
• Bruno Lapa has a team-high 26 points on nine goals and eight assists while Omir Fernandez has 24 points on a team-leading 10 goals and four assists.
• Andreu Cases Mundet has played every minute in goal for Wake Forest, going 12-1-0 with a 0.99 goals against average and a .705 save percentage.
• The Deacs sent seven payers into the MLS following the 2017 season but brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country.
THE SERIES vs. WAKE FOREST
• Friday's meeting marks the 16th all-time meeting between Boston College and Wake Forest, with the Demon Deacons holding a lead of 8-5-2 in the all-time series.
• BC and Wake Forest first met in 2005, playing to a 1-1 tie in Newton.
• The Demon Deacons have won the last five meetings going back to 2013, out-scoring BC 16-1 in that stretch.
• Last year, a second-ranked Wake Forest squad spoiled BC's senior day with a 4-0 win in Newton.

LAST TIME OUT
• Boston College earned its second consecutive win on Tuesday night, topping Harvard, 1-0, in Newton.
• Simon Enstrom scored in the second minute – BC's fastest goal of the season to start a game – and it would hold up to be his fourth game-winning goal of the season.
• Goalkeeper Antonio Chavez Borrelli earned an assist on Enstrom's goal with a beautiful service up the right flank.
• The sophomore also earned his second straight shutout to become the first BC goalkeeper since Alex Kapp in 2014 to post back-to-back individual shutouts.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS
• All 10 of BC's regular season games this season have been decided by one goal or less (as were both preseason contests).
• This is the longest such streak to open a season on record for the program.
• Under head coach Ed Kelly, the Eagles have opened up a season with five straight one goal or less games three times (2008, 2002, 1991).
• Four of BC's games this season have had 1-0 score lines, with the Eagles going 2-2-0 in those contests.
• In the 2016 season, 14 of BC's 21 games were decided by one goal or less.
ENSTROM COMING IN CLUTCH
• In all four of the Eagles' wins this season, Simon Enstrom has scored the game-winning goal.
• The senior's brace lifted BC to a 2-1 win over Quinnipiac in the season opener while his 89th minute goal earned a win over Clemson on Sept. 7 and his 61st did it against NC State on Oct. 5.
• Against Harvard on Oct. 9, Enstrom's second minute goal stood to be the game-winner.
• Enstrom also has two key game-tying goals on the season, doing it against Boston University on Aug. 27 with an 87th minute score and versus Holy Cross on Sept. 11.
