CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College will host North Carolina on Friday, Jan. 5 for an 11 a.m. tip off at Conte Forum. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday night but had to be postponed due to the snowstorm. Fans with tickets for Thursday's game (vs. UNC) can be used for Friday's game or can be redeemed for any future women's game this season.
The Boston College women's basketball team will host North Carolina on Thursday at Conte Forum (7 p.m.). This is the first home ACC game for Boston College.
Following tonight's game against UNC, BC will be off until Thursday, Jan. 11 when the Eagles host Virginia at Conte Forum at 7 p.m.
Boston College is looking to halt a three-game skid. The Eagles are coming off a loss at Virginia Tech, 17 points from Milan Bolden-Morris and 14 points and eight rebounds from sophomore Emma Rose Guy.
North Carolina is currently 10-4 and 0-1 in the ACC. The Tar Heels opened up ACC action with a, 103-65, loss at Florida State. Kea Paris had 17 points along with Jan Bailey while Jamie Cherry pitched in with 10 points.
Carolina shot 1-13 from three-point line and had 21 turnovers in the loss.
Kea Paris leads the ACC in scoring (20.6 ppg) and notched her career-high 33 points vs. Washington on Dec. 17. Kea is shooting 55.2 percent from the floor and 47.9 from long range. Jamie Cherry is averaging 16 points and 3.6 rebounds a game for Carolina.
BC vs. North Carolina
- The Tar Heels lead the overall series, 12-2.
- The Eagles have not won a game against UNC at Conte Forum.
- One of the two wins over UNC came last year on the road. BC won, 88-77, behind 18 points from Taylor Ortlepp and 20 from Mariella Fasoula. Ortlepp hit five three-pointers in the victory.
- The first win over UNC came on Feb. 11, 2010 on the road. BC won 69-62, behind 12 points and nine rebounds from Stefanie Murphy. Her final basket came in the 53rd second off a missed shot. The basket pushed the Eagles lead to six points.
