Coffey Named To USWNT Under-20 Roster

Sam Coffey earns spot on U-20 Team headed to 2018 CONCACAF Championship
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College rookie Sam Coffey was named to the 2018 U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team roster for the 2018 CONCACAF Championship in Trinidad & Tobago. Coffey is one of 20 players on the roster for the tournament which will run from Jan. 18-28.
The team will open up the Group B action on Jan. 19 against Nicaragua at Ato Boldon Stadium (5:30 p.m. ET). The second match is scheduled for Jan. 21 against Jamaica (6:30 p.m. ET) followed by the final game on Jan. 23 vs. Mexico (3 p.m. ET).
Coffey trained with the team from Dec. 28-Jan. 3 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The final 20 players were finalized by head coach Jitka Klimkova this week.
The top three teams at this tournament will qualify for the 2018 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in France this summer.
Coffey, a native of Sleepy Hollow, New York, led Boston College in scoring this past season with five goals and 10 assists for 20 points.
The Eagles midfielder had one game-winning goal and ended the season on a four- game point-scoring streak. In three games, she notched two or more assists and posted a career-high five points in the win over Colgate.
