This will be Katie Quandt's final season at Boston College. The Eagles center is hoping to help the program move forward with fellow seniors Rachel Gartner and Martina Mosetti.
Q: What was the biggest adjustment moving from Minnesota to Boston?
A: The biggest adjustment was just being away from my family and friends. Also, like many other college students, I had to get used to more challenging classes and managing my time wisely.
Q: BC is playing in your home state this upcoming season. Talk about your feelings about playing in Minnesota for the first time in your college career.
A: I am excited to be heading back to "The North Star State"! I can't wait to have friends and relatives see our team play the Gophers at "The Barn" (Williams Arena).
Q: What's been your favorite memory from your college basketball career?
A: There are so many great stories I could tell but my favorite memory is when we beat Duke my freshman year.
Q: As a senior, what are you going to miss about being a member of the team? What part of the experience won't you miss?
A: My teammates, there is no question spending time the conversations we have had over the years is something I will miss. The many road trips, pre-game meals with the team and staff, those moments are special. I won't miss early morning practices and runs.
Q: How have you changed as a basketball player since coming to The Heights?
A: I have become physically stronger and in better shape since coming to BC. Also, I have learned to push myself in ways I didn't know I could.
Q: What's your best advice for younger players on the team or any future BC Eagles?
A: My advice would be to give your best effort in everything that you do and treat others the way you want to be treated.
Q: Where is your favorite spot on campus that you like to just chill out?
A: My favorite spot on campus to chill out at is the locker room.
Q: What is your favorite cafeteria on campus and what's your favorite meal?
A: My favorite cafeteria on campus is Lower (Corcoran Commons). My favorite meal there is Chicken Skewers with Rice.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: In my free time, I enjoy swimming, reading, and listening to music.
Q: If you could play another sport at BC, what would you choose and why?
A: If I could play another sport at BC, I would do track and field, specifically shot put, because I enjoyed doing it my senior year in high school.
Q: What is your major and what are you plans after graduation?
A: I am majoring in psychology. After graduation, I plan on taking a trip to Hawaii.
Q: What are you going to miss the most about Boston College?
A: BC is a special place. Everybody wants you to succeed and be the best you can be. I am going to miss the environment and atmosphere at The Heights.
