Eagles’ graduating senior is the Eagles’ first honoree since 2014
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College graduated senior Aidan McNulty was one of 30 men's tennis student-athletes named to the 2016-17 ACC All-Academic Team, which the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday.
Â
McNulty, who split his senior season between No. 1 and No. 2 singles and also competed regularly in doubles play, is the Eagles' first ACC All-Academic selection since Matt Wagner was chosen in 2014. Overall, this is BC's ninth's academic all-conference honoree.
Â
McNulty wrapped his final season at The Heights with a 9-26 record this season, including a 6-10 mark in doubles with seven different partners. He earned victories in first singles against Georgetown, Boston University and Dartmouth and won doubles matches against Georgetown, BU, Southern New Hampshire, UNLV, No. 15 Georgia Tech and Babson.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
