CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –
The Boston College women's soccer team has released its 2017 schedule, featuring 10 home games and six matches against 2016 NCAA Tournament participants.
The Eagles will host five ACC matches and three of those will be home games that feature postseason teams – Virginia, North Carolina and Duke.
Boston College will begin the season with three of its first five games on the road, starting with a two-game series in Virginia. The Eagles will open the season at the JMU Tournament in Harrisonburg, Va. The Eagles will play the host, James Madison on Friday, Aug. 18 followed by Sunday's game against William and Mary at 11:30 a.m.
The Eagles return to Newton to host Vanderbilt (Aug. 25) and Colgate (Aug. 27). The two- game home series is followed by a road game at Stony Brook (Aug. 31) only to return home for three inner-city games – Northeastern (Sept. 3), at Harvard (Sept. 6) and vs. BU (Sept. 10).
After the Eagles' final non-conference regular season home game against former Big East rival St. John's (Sept. 14), BC host Louisville (Sept. 17) in the ACC season-opener.
ACC action continues as the Eagles will play at NC State (Sept. 21) followed by a home match against Wake Forest (Sept. 24).
A tough road stretch for the Eagles begins at Virginia Tech (Sept. 29), followed by a road game at FSU (Oct. 5) and at Miami (Oct. 8).
BC returns to Newton to host three straight ACC teams. The first match is against North Carolina (Oct. 14), which advanced to the College Cup in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The Eagles will then host Duke (Oct. 19), which advanced to the Elite Eight. Three days later BC hosts Virginia on Senior Day. The Cavaliers advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 last season.
The Eagles will end the regular season on the road at Pittsburgh (Oct. 26).
The quarterfinal game for the 2017 ACC Championship will be held on the campus of the higher seed. The semifinal and final games will be held on November 3 and 5 at MUSC Health Stadium Charleston, South Carolina.
