Two Crews Earn Medals at Eastern Sprints

Second Varsity Four takes bronze and Fourth Varsity Eight earns gold.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College rowing raced in six events at Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass., on Sunday April 30th, to cap off the regular season.
On Sunday, BC's Second Varsity Four and Fourth Varsity Eight earned medals against the 13 teams that make up the Eastern Sprints League – Harvard-Radcliffe, Boston University, Holy Cross, Buffalo, Northeastern, MIT, Drexel, Connecticut, Columbia, Dartmouth, Rutgers and Bucknell.Â

In the Second Varsity Four, the Eagles posted a third place finish for bronze with a time of 8:07.8, following Columbia and Harvard-Radcliffe.

In the Fourth Varsity Eight, the crew for the Eagles cruised to a gold medal, finishing 19 seconds ahead of Connecticut.

Also earning spots in the Grand Finals Sunday were the Second Varsity Eight and the Varsity Four.

BC will be back on the water on Sunday, May 14, in the ACC Championships hosted in Clemson, S.C.
