GOAL DESCRIPTIONS
FIRST GOAL (1-0 – UML) FIRST PERIOD – C.J. Smith – 1:06 – EVEN STRENGTH
• UMass Lowell struck first on its first rush after stripping the puck in the neutral zone and rushing it up ice 66 seconds into regulation. C.J. Smith came away with the puck down the left side and beat his defenseman on the dot, whizzing a sharp wrister past Joseph Woll to give the River Hawks an early 1-0 lead.
SECOND GOAL (1-1 – BC) FIRST PERIOD – Austin Cangelosi – 5:31 – POWER PLAY
• Austin Cangelosi took quick advantage of Boston College's first power play of the game ten seconds into a Jake Kamrass boarding penalty (5:21). Scott Savage set up the play on the right side, going point to point to JD Dudek atop the left circle. Dudek blasted the shot quickly into traffic and Cangelosi got in the shot lane and tipped the pick perfectly past UML netminder Tyler Wall at 5:31 to tie it up, 1-1.
THIRD GOAL (2-1 – UML) FIRST PERIOD – Chris Forney – 12:06 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Lowell defenseman Chris Forney reclaimed the lead at 12:06 of first period on a blast from the slot. Tommy Panico got the puck to C.J. FOURTH GOAL (2-2 – BC) FIRST PERIOD – Graham McPhee – 18:38 – SHORT HANDED
• The Eagles went on the penalty kill to close the second period but a heroic play by Graham McPhee turned it into a 2-2 game with the short-handed tally. Just as C.J. • UMass Lowell took advantage of its third power play opportunity of the night on a rebound in front of Woll at 10:05 of the second period. The puck hopped over Woll's pads and right to Edwardh on the other post where he roofed it for the 3-2 UMass Lowell lead.
SIXTH GOAL (4-3 – BC) SECOND PERIOD – Joe Gambardella – 11:37 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Joe Gambardella put the River Hawks up a pair a minute and 32 seconds after Edwardh's goal at 11:37. SEVENTH GOAL (4-3 – UML) SECOND PERIOD – Ryan Fitzgerald – 17:15 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Eagles pulled Woll for the extra attacker and R. Fitzgerald made an incredible play with no room to make it a one-goal game with 2:45 left to play in regulation. Dudek hit R.
