Donovan, Naumec Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomores Laura Donovan (fencing) and Matthew Naumec (men's golf) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Donovan recorded an 8-1 individual record in the sabre last Wednesday in the 10^th annual Beanpot. She was 3-0 vs. MIT, 3-0 vs. Brandeis and 2-1 vs. Harvard in the event. Her only loss of the day was to Harvard's two-time NCAA Champion, Adrienne Jarocki. Donovan outscored her opponents by a combined 42 touches to 15.

Naumec won the individual title at the Pizza Hut-Pat Hicks Invitational by finishing -8 (67-69—136) in the two-day tournament. It is Naumec's fourth-straight top five finish and his second win of the year.
Naumec ranked second in the field in par 4 scoring (-4), sixth on par 3s (-2), sixth in birdies (9) and seventh in pars (26).

Fencing will compete in the ACC Championship this weekend at Duke. Men's golf next competes in March at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
