
Pool Records Broken in Win Against Williams

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - On Saturday, December 2nd, the Eagles emerged victorious over Williams College. The men won 188.5-91.5, and the women won 176-124. This was the women's first win against Williams since 2005. Two pool records were broken: Maura Grimes broke the pool record for the 50 backstroke, and Taylor Cortens broke the pool record in the 200 breaststroke.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
WOMEN
-The women took first, second and third in the 200 medley relay.
-Katherine Karle placed first (57.19), Grimes placed second (57.31) and Ina Elcott placed third (57.96) in the 100 backstroke.
-Victoria Lin placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:04.71) and first in the 100 butterfly (56.37).
-Cecilia O'Reilly placed first in the 1m diving with a score of 269.55.
-Erika Freeman placed first in the 200 medley with a time of 2:08.16.
-Grimes set a pool recrod in the 50 backstroke time of 26.53.
MEN
- The men placed first and second in the 200 backstroke - Daniel Creighton placed first (51.05) and Brendan Gatward placed second (53.52).
-Colin O'Leary placed first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:52.74.
-Michael Hinton took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.02.
-Taylor Cortens came in first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.92, setting a pool record.
-Colin Deredyn placed first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.70 and Creighton placed second with a time of 51.62.
