Eagles Add Six On National Signing Day

BC Head Coach Erik Johnson ready to welcome six news players to the program.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball team received six commitments for the 2018 class as announced by head coach Erik Johnson. BC is excited to welcome point guard Jenasae Bishop from Hammond, Indiana; forward Clara Ford from Vienna, Virginia; Marnelle Garraud from Lynn, Mass; forward Lana Hollingsworth from Brighton East, Australia; guard Kate Klimkiewicz from Oakton, Virginia; forward Taylor Soule from West Lebanon, New Hampshire.
"This is truly a special class. It is extremely rare to get six players in a class who are all talented, high-character young women and can complement each other and play together,'' said head coach Erik Johnson when talking about the incoming class. "All six of these young women are excellent students and each brings great character and leadership to BC. Eagle fans are going to enjoy getting to know this group.''

Played for Coach Alex Gallagher at Noble And Greenough School … Averaged 13 points, four steals and five assists a game … 2016-17 ISL Champions … Class AA Champions … Class A East All-Star … New England Tournament Class AA MVP … Scored her 1,000 career point in 2016-17 season … Played her first two seasons at St. Mary's High School … Offensive Player of the year as a freshman … Team MVP as a sophomore … Spartan Classic MVP … Rose Classic MVP, Catholic Conference MVP ... Boston Herald all-Scholastic … Plays for coach Jesus Rodriques and the MCW Starz since her sophomore year.
"Jenasae Bishop and Marnelle Garraud are lightning quick point guards who will increase our pace of play right away,'' said Johnson. "Jenasae is a scorer who can defend while Marnelle is an elite defender who can score. They both play the point and the off guard position so they will mesh well playing together and will form an amazing back-court duo.''

Lana is an experienced international player with remarkable court sense, scoring, and passing ability, while Kate runs the floor with breakaway speed and brings deep 3-point range to our offense,'' said Johnson.

Plays basketball and soccer at Kimball Union Academy … Averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists per game as a junior … Reached the 1,000 point mark in February, 2017 … NEPSAC Class C All-Star in 2015, 2016 & 2017 … NH Notebook No. 1 Top Prospect Class of 2018 … Plays for head coach Scott Hazelton and the Mass Rivals … Deep South Classic All-Tournament Honorable Mention in 2016 … NEPSAC Class CA All-Star in 2016 as a junior in soccer.
"The front-court duo of Taylor Soule and Clara Ford brings us toughness and athleticism at both ends of the floor. Taylor is a high-motor athlete who is an elite rebounder, can truly defend all five positions, and attacks the rim fearlessly against anyone. Clara is a long, mobile post player who regularly beats guards down the floor in transition and will bring major energy to our inside game on both ends with her hustle, rebounding, shot blocking, and scoring touch,'' said Johnson of Soule and Ford.
Boston College will open up the 2017-18 season on Friday when the Eagles host Bryant at noon in Conte Forum. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate or online.
