Kerr Announces 2017-18 Track Schedule

Eagles begin action on Dec. 2
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College men's track team will officially open the 2017-18 campaign on Dec. 2, according to the schedule released by head coach Matt Kerr. | 2018 schedule

The schedule includes seven indoor meets, beginning on Dec. 2 at the Boston University Season Opener. The indoor meets will take place at Boston University, Dartmouth, and the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center. The ACC Championships will be hosted by Clemson on Feb. 22-24.
At last year's indoor ACC Championships at Notre Dame, the men's 4x400 relay team of senior Nick Nash, junior Matt Morano, senior Darren James and senior Obinna Nwankwo posted a season-best time of 3:15.29. Nash went on to qualify for the IC4A Championships in the 400, where he finished in sixth place overall with a time of 48.28. The Eagles also had 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams qualify for the Championship meet.
The Eagles will then open the outdoor track season on March 23 in Jacksonville, Fla. at the UNF Spring Break Invitational. BC will travel to Palo Alto, California, Miami, Florida, Providence, Rhode Island, Atlanta, Georgia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania throughout the remainder of the season. The ACC Championships will take place on May 10-12 at Miami.
Last year's ACC Championships in Atlanta, Ga. saw a record-breaking performance in the 4x400 meter relay. Nash, James, senior Oliver Boucher and Nwankwo set a Boston College record of 3:11.00, breaking a 50-year old record set back in 1967.
Sophomore Sean Burke went on to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries at the University of Kentucky, where he raced the 10K. He finished in 31st place with a time of 30:57.04.
The Eagles return 13 upper-classmen and have added 12 freshmen to the roster in preparation for the 2017-18 campaign.
