Dillon, Chukwujekwu Named Eagles of the Week

Eagles’ freshman running back, freshman middle blocker take this week’s honors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College freshman running back AJ Dillion (football) and freshman middle blocker Amaka Chukwujekwu (volleyball) have been named Nissan Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Dillon was also named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week for his performance at Louisville, which included a career-high 272 yards and four touchdowns. It was the fifth-best single-game performance in the nation in 2017 and the most yards in a game by a true freshman this season. His 272 yards were also the most ever by a true freshman in Boston College history.

Against Pittsburgh, Chukwujekwu hit .846, breaking Boston College's individual single match record for attack percentage. She led with match-high 11 kills and registered no attack errors on the day. Her three blocks on the weekend have added to her now 54 blocks on the season, in which she leads the Eagles

Football (3-4) returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, when the team travels to face Virginia at 12:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised on ACC's RSN – including locally on NESN. Volleyball (5-13) returns to the court on Friday, Oct. 20, when the Eagles travel to face Clemson at 7 p.m.
