In other BC sports new, the Boston College football team fell to ACC foe No. 16 Virginia Tech, 23-10, on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Alumni Stadium.
Despite the loss, redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Brown looked strong as he passed for 166 yards and led the Eagles in rushing (51 yards on seven carries).
The BC defense made a big stop in the fourth quarter to prevent the Hokies from scoring when it stopped Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson on fourth down at the one-yard line.
Heading to ACC rival Louisville on Saturday, Oct. 14, the Eagles look to rely on the running game of true freshman running back AJ Dillon and junior Jon Hilliman, who ran for a combined 199 yards and three touchdowns in BC's 28-8 victory over Central Michigan on Sept. 30.
Dillon is increasing in confidence each week as he looks to have a strong performance against Louisville.
Junior defensive end Zach Allen, who had 14 tackles against Virginia Tech, is looking forward to facing Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson this weekend. Â Â
