Pineau Named ACC Rookie of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –

Freshman forward Georgia Pineau has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, announced today by the league office.

Pineau averaged 15 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the Eagles' two games last week. She shot 14-for-18 from the floor in both wins.

A native of Victoria, Australia, Pineau had a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds against Maine on Dec. 30. She shot 7-for-10 from the floor and chipped in with three assists. Pineau followed that performance with an impressive ACC debut as she shot 7-for-8 from the floor, finished with 14 points and eight rebounds in the win over Clemson on Monday night.

The Eagles' first-year starter is averaging 8.1 points and 6.1 rebounds a game.

Boston College is about to embark on a two-game road swing as the Eagles will play at Pittsburgh on Thursday night (RSN) and Sunday at Syracuse. BC will return home to host Georgia Tech on Thursday, Jan. 12.
