Meehan Named To All-ACC Preseason Team

Eagles slated to place eighth in the conference in 2016.

Boston College forward McKenzie Meehan has been named to the Preseason All-ACC team as announced by the conference this afternoon.
Meehan, a graduate student, led the conference in goals and points scored (17 goals, 38 points) during the regular season last year. She was a 2015 All-ACC first team and was an NSCAA All-American third-team honoree last year.
A native of Glocester, Rhode Island, Meehan has 98 career points and needs just 19 points to become the Eagles all-time leader in points scored. She became the all-time leader in goals scored last season in a 2-1 victory at Pittsburgh. She now has 46 career goals.
The ACC also released the 2016 Preseason Coaches' Poll and the Eagles are slated to finish eighth in the conference. Florida State, with nine first place votes, was selected to finish first while Virginia second with three first place votes. Duke was selected to placed third (two first place votes) followed by UNC, Clemson, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, BC, Wake Forest, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, NC State and Miami.
BC will open up the 2016 campaign on Friday, August 19 at Providence (7 p.m.). The Eagles home opener is on Sunday, August 21 at the Newton Soccer Field against Arizona State (1 p.m.).
