Eagles hold last intrasquad scrimmage before season opener
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The past weekend saw the BC football team's second intrasquad scrimmage as they get one week closer to their season opener in Dublin. A point of emphasis for the Eagles as they prepare for their week one matchup against ACC foe Georgia Tech is to contain their opponent's ground game.
The defensive backs had a strong scrimmage, led by three straight plays by Gabriel McClary, Hamp Cheevers and Elijah Robinson. Senior defensive back John Johnson was impressed with what his core was able to accomplish, "I think [we're] just locking in, working on our technique. It's great to see it actually paying off."
Speaking of McClary, the 6-3, 204 pound junior is making the seamless transition from wide receiver to cornerback, and seeing regular reps with the first string defense.
After an injury-riddled 2015 season, there are many speculations on how the team will perform this season.
