Eagles Hire David Taranto As Assistant Coach

Has been a part of program for last four seasons
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's cross country and track & field team has hired former Eagle David Taranto has an assistant coach, announced Friday by head coach Matt Kerr.
Taranto ran cross country and competed in distance events on the track at BC for three seasons, and served as a student manager last year.
"We are thrilled to add David to our BC cross country and track & field coaching roster," Kerr said. "He is energetic, dedicated and has a competitive spirit that will help complement both our staff and athletes. David knows our program inside and out, competing as an athlete with the Eagles and spending the 2015-16 year as an effective team manager. I am very confident in David's ability to help identify athletes who will thrive at Boston College and in the ACC. We are excited to have David help our program achieve new heights!"
Taranto's duties will include recruiting coordination, assisting with the cross country team and administering workouts with track & field.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Boston College coaching staff," Taranto said. "As an assistant, I get to learn each day from some of the most knowledgeable people in track & field while contributing to the success of the Eagles. It is very special to be a part of a program with such a long tradition and I intend to build on this success during my years at Boston College."
Taranto was a standout track & field performer at Burlington High School and graduated from Boston College in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in history. He will pursue his Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
