Recent UNH grad becomes part of the Eagles’ coaching staff
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Emma Compagna, a 2016 graduate of New Hampshire, has joined head field hockey coach Kelly Doton's staff as an assistant coach. She will work the Eagles' attack, as well as handle team administrative matters.
The Canton, Mass., product arrives at The Heights after completing her four-year playing career with the Wildcats in 2015. Campagna appeared in all 82 of UNH's games in her career, scoring eight goals and adding three assists. She helped the Wildcats win the 2013 America East Championship, and was part of the team's NCAA Tournament squad the same season.
"I'm excited to have Emma join the staff for the 2016 season," Doton said. "She's coming from a well-run organized program in UNH and look forward to her contributions both on and off the field."
"While playing at UNH we were always eager to face the Eagles because their style of play brought out the best competitors in us," Compagna added. "I can't wait to become a part of another successful and hard-working program. I'm extremely excited to work alongside Coach Doton and the rest of the BC staff."
Doton's full 2016 staff also includes assistant coach Phil Edwards and volunteer assistant coach Carolyn Cahill, who works with the Eagles' goaltenders.
The Eagles are coming off a 2015 season that saw the team post a 13-9 overall record. In Doton's first season as head coach, BC made its first-ever appearance in the semifinals of the ACC Championship, and also advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history and for the first time since 1998.
