Megan Cooley Named To All-ACC Academic Team

Boston College senior Megan Cooley was named to the 2016 Softball All-ACC Academic Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.

A native of Mill Creek, Washington, Cooley finished her career at Boston College as the all-time leader in stolen bases (86) while also holding the single-season records for hits (63) and stolen bases (32). She ranks third all-time with 206 career hits.

Cooley, a four-year starter in center field for the Eagles, was also four-time Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree. She earned her degree economics from the Carroll School of Management in May.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
