Madison Meehan Named ACC Scholar Athlete

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –
Senior Madison Meehan was named Boston College's ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year as announced at Friday night's Golden Eagles awards ceremony at Conte Forum. The ACC sponsors two awards given to each conference school to name the two student-athletes with the highest GPA. Meehan was the women's representative while Richard Moschella from track and field also received the honor.
Meehan, a defender on the women's soccer team, was also named to the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement for the fourth consecutive year. A native of Glocester, Rhode Island, Meehan was also awarded the Outstanding Senior Award for soccer. She played in 55 career games for the Eagles and was the ultimate team player, switching to a number of positions to help the team improve.
Teammate Coco Woeltz was awarded the team Leadership Award, while junior Hayley Dowd received the Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor.
The following student-athletes were named to the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement list – Lauren Berman, Lauren Bernard, Cami Didio, Hayley Dowd, Monique Fischer, Carly Leipzig, Jillian Lutz, Madison Meehan, McKenzie Meehan, Shea Newman, Andrea O'Brien, Amber Stearns and Coco Woeltz. Bernard, Lutz, Madison Meehan, McKenzie Meehan and Coco Woeltz are four-time AD Award winners, while Andrea O'Brien and Hayley Dowd are three-time honorees.
