
Eagles Place Seventh At ACC Championships

BC notches 31 team points, place ahead of Miami and North Carolina
CLEMSON, S.C. - The Boston College women's rowing team completed their 2015-16 campaign on Saturday, placing seventh overall with 31 team points at the ACC Championships, held at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina.Â
After both the Second Varsity Four and the Third Varsity Eight boats advanced to the Grand Finals in their respective events Friday evening, they each placed sixth in the final round Saturday morning. The 2V4 squad finished with a time of 7:43.463, behind the first place team from Virginia (7:16.407), while the 3V8 registered a 6:56.890 final time, behind the gold medalist squad, also from Virginia (6:31.296).Â
BC also saw its Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and First Varsity Four advance to the Petite Finals following Friday evening's heats. The V8 took second behind Miami with a time 6:52.142 while both the 2V8 and the V4 netted first place finishes in the petite finals of their respective races on Saturday morning as well. The 2V8 finished with a time of 6:48.549 while the V4 finished at 7:35.398.Â
Boston College senior Catherine Goldberg was also named to the 2016 All-ACC Rowing Second Team following the conclusion of the ACC Championships.Â
Today's races also marked the final collegiate action for the team's six seniors. In addition to Goldberg, Megan Carney, Haley Clarke, Kylie Hasegawa, Caroline Henry and Michaela Jaffe each completed their final event as student-athletes at Boston College.Â
