Four Named to All-ACC Academic Team

It's the most selections for the Eagles since 2010
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Four Boston College field hockey players have been honored for their work in the classroom.
Seniors AshLeigh Sebia, Kelcie Hromisin and Romee Stiekema were joined by freshman Frederiquee Haverhals as selections for the 2015 All-ACC Academic Team. It marks the second such honor for Sebia and Hromisin while Stiekema and Haverhals are first-time honorees.
It's the most selections the Eagles have had on the team since 2010.
Sebia, a communications major, also earned ACC All-Tournament Team honors. Playing in 22 games, the Plains, Pa., native recorded 17 points on seven goals and three assists.
Hromisin, coming off a career-high 19 points on nine goals and one assist, was also named to the NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region Second Team. The Applied Psych/Human Development and Biology major also ranked second on the team in goals and game-winning goals.
A first-time honoree, Stiekema also recorded career-highs with 12 points on three goals and six assists. The Amsterdam, Netherlands native also earned NFCHA Division I All-Northeast Region First Team and All-ACC Second Team honors.
One of only four freshmen selected to the team, Haverhals was a key role player on the Eagles defense. A NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region Second Team selection, the Warmound, Netherlands native tallied 17 points on four goals and a team-high nine assists while ranking fourth in the ACC in defensive saves with three.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
