Williams Carnival Recap

This past weekend, the Boston College men's and women's skiing teams competed in their final regular season meet at the Williams College Carnival at Jiminy Peak in Hancock, MA.

In the women's giant slalom, junior Bug Pech was the top finisher for the Eagles, finishing in 30th place out of 51 total finishers. Freshman Amanda Steffey was not far behind, coming in at 35th place. Overall, the women came in at 10th place out of 13 teams in the event.

On the men's side of the GS, sophomore Carter Robertson and senior Keith Schuman had extremely impressive finishes of 14th and 16th place, respectively, out of 46 finishers. The combined total of 52 points between Robertson and Schuman propelled the Eagles to a 7th place finish out of 13 teams in the giant slalom.

In the slalom, Pech again led the women by finishing in 28th place out of 49 competitors. Freshman teammate Dannica Ashnault finished just 3 spots behind her in 31st as the Eagles' second finisher in the event. Boston College finished 11th out of 13 competitors.

Carter Robertson also was the top finisher in the slalom for the Eagles' in the men's competition, placing 19th out of 47 finishers. Schuman finished 28th, while junior Ryan Barney and freshman Aaron Taylor took 32nd and 36th place, respectively. Robertson's second top-20 finish of the day gave the Eagles an 8th place finish out of the 13 competitors.

With the regular season wrapped up, qualified Eagle skiers will return to the slopes next weekend for the NCAA East Regional Championships.
