- Freshman Mariella Fasoula led the team with six rebounds, adding 12 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals opened up the game on a 5-0 run with the Eagles responding with four unanswered points of their own. With the score tied at seven, Louisville broke the game open with an 11-0 run, led by six points from Asia Durr. Kelly Hughes stopped the bleeding with 36 seconds left, knocking down her second three-pointer of the quarter to pull Boston College within eight after one.
- The Eagles began the second quarter on an 8-0 run behind two three pointers from Hughes, including a game-tying trey with 6:45 remaining in the half. However, the Cardinals responded with a run of their own, using an 11-2 run to close out the quarter and take a 29-20 lead into the break.
- Louisville increased the lead to 15 with a 6-0 run to begin the quarter, with Myisha Hines-Allen scoring all six points. Boston College would fight back, using a 10-4 run to get the lead back to single digits. However, the Cardinals scored the final four points of the quarter, including a Mariya Moore buzzer-beater to hold a 43-32 edge after three.
- The teams exchanged baskets for most of the final quarter. The Eagles used a 9-2 run—with seven points coming from junior Kailey Edwards—to cut the lead to eight points with 1:36 remaining. However, it proved little too late, as the Cardinals were able to hold on for victory.
