Football makes Bowl, Women's basketball player returns home.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Football: While everyone in the U.S. was stuffing themselves with turkey and enjoying football on T.V., the Boston College football, searching for its bowl-clinching sixth win, prepared for Wake Forest.
With the 2015 3-0 loss to the Demon Deacons long behind them, the Eagles looked to get the upper hand in the rematch.
The Eagles got on the board quickly as junior kicker Mike Knoll, who has proved an important factor in the red zone, connected on his 11th field goal of the season.
On defense, Boston College was able to keep the game close as junior defensive end Harold Landry, who has set the tone for the D-line all season, helped put pressure on Wake Forest by recording three sacks on the day. Making Landry first in the nation in sacks with 15, a single-season record.
With a minute left to play in the game, Boston College was able to hang on to beat Wake Forest as sophomore defensive back Lukas Denis recorded the first interception of his young career.
Moving to 6-6 on the season, Boston College is now bowl eligible for the third time in four years but must wait to see what bowl it will draw from the long list of possible games.
Women's Basketball: As the Eagles made their way to Colorado for the Omni Classic at the Coors Event Center, graduate student forward Kailey Edwards returned to the arena where she won her high school state championship for the first time since putting on an Eagles uniform.
