Three Rookies Head to Boston College Next Season

Recruits hail from New York, Florida and Ontario
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College head women's tennis coach Nigel Bentley announced today the members of the Class of 2021.

Three players signed their National Letters of Intent and will make their way to BC next season.
"We are very excited about Natasha, Loren and Maria each signing NLI's to come to BC next fall," Bentley said. "They bring extensive national and international tennis experience and will play extremely significant roles in the future of our program. Their commitment to excel in the class room and on the tennis courts is consistent with our team goals. We cannot wait for them to arrive in Chestnut Hill next August and become part of the BC family."

Loren Haukova | 5-8 | Elmsford, N.Y. | Briarcliff High School

Loren Rebecca Haukova … went undefeated her sophomore and senior years for head coach Donald Hamlin at Briarcliff High School … selected for the National Spring Team Championship in Mobile, Ala. … earned Intersectional National Team Tournament honors in Shreveport, La. … made the USTA Zone Team Championships seven times … earned honors three times at the Junior Awards Gala at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center … received Empire Cup Champions honors in doubles play … became Eastern Super Six champion … was a National Selection Doubles finalist, Regional Singles finalist and Eastern Sectional champion … earned high honor roll as a senior and honor roll as freshman, sophomore and junior … participated in the pediatric cancer club … daughter of Anna and Milo Hauk … sister of Milo Hauk.

Natasha Irani | 5-7 | Mississauga, Ontario, Canada | Silverthorn Collegiate Institute

Played tennis for John Fraser Secondary School and Silverthorn Collegiate Institute … competed for the Ontario Racquet Club from 2005-13 and 2016-17 … played for Ace Tennis in Burlington, Ontario, Canada … obtained a WTA pro ranking at age 16 … earned the top ranking in Canada … won Canada doubles championship … competed in the Rogers Cup in the summer of 2015 … won U14, U16 and U18 national selection tournament in one season … also participated in cross country, track and field (800-meter and hurdles), swimming, gymnastics and triathlons … finished in the top five of a 300-person cross country race … won the highest mark in the grade award in two courses … earned honor roll from grades 5-11 … plans on majoring in biology and pursuing a career as an optometrist and dermatologist … daughter of Mina and Firdosh Irani … sister of Tanya Irani.

Maria Ross | 5-6 | Lakewood Ranch, Fla. | Out of Door Academy

Maria Anna Ross … played tennis at Out of Door Academy for head coach Noel Dougherty, a Boston College graduate … won district, regional and state singles as a freshman … won Florida's high school doubles championship … earned No. 1 ranking in Florida … made the Florida team for the Junior Fed Cup … is a member of her school's business club … has not decided on a major but wants to pursue a career in business … daughter of Gary and Irini Ross … sister of Ivan Ross.
