The Eagles get ready for No.3 Clemson, plan to honor Welles Crowther. Women's hockey highlighted by past and present stars
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Football: With Clemson coming to town on Friday, anticipation continues to spread across Boston College and the city itself. When a nationally ranked team comes to The Heights there is always extra hype but this game will also have a special environment to it.
On Friday night, Boston College will honor Welles Crowther, or the Man in the Red Bandanna as people across the country may know him as. Crowther is honored annually at Boston College in many ways and always brings an energy boost to the superfans.
The Eagles offense will be shorthanded this week as redshirt freshman WR Chris Garrison suffered a fractured leg against Buffalo and will miss a considerable amount of time and the Eagles will do their best to fill this hole in the receiver corps.
On the defensive side of the ball, Boston College will look to contain quarterback Deshaun Watson who is among the top QBs in the nation. Looking to lead the way on the pass rush is junior DE Harold Landry. Landry played a huge role in BC's top-ranked defense in the nation last season and will look to continue to put pressure on Watson this Friday.
Women's Ice Hockey: With the season kicking off this past weekend, junior defenseman Megan Keller will look to continue to assist her team this year as well as climb the rankings as she currently sits fifth all-time in defensive scoring and was the fastest defenseman to hit 50 and 75 points in her career.
Alumni News: Former women's hockey star and current NWHL player for the Connecticut Whale Kelli Stack was honored at a recent home game. The game featured special posters of the Olympian and the arena was opened to fans and their dogs as a reminder of Stack's Sochi experience and how she came home with the silver medal and a dog.
During the 2016 offseason Connecticut Whale general manager Lisa Giovanelli signed U.S national team players Dana Trivigno and Haley Skarupa to Connecticut's roster, extending the connection they had at The Heights.
