Lonergan, Naumec Named Eagles of the Week

Pair honored for performances last week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman forward Caitrin Lonergan (women's hockey) and sophomore Matthew Naumec (men's golf) have been named Eagles of the Week.

Lonergan recorded her first two collegiate points in the Eagles' first two games of the season, scoring one goal in both games at Minnesota Duluth last weekend. Both of her goals came on the power play. After the first weekend of play, she is tied for the national lead among freshmen goal scorers and power play goals.

Naumec earned his first career victory by finishing -10 (64-69-67—200) which won by three strokes at the Macdonald Cup hosted by Yale. He was tied for the lead after round one and was in a three-way tie after the second round. He pulled away with his final round 67 which was the second-best round of the day.

No. 5 Women's hockey (0-1-1) hosts Maine on Saturday and Sunday. Men's golf will play in The Connecticut Cup on October 10-11.
