Football continues to face the challenges of an injury plagued lineup, while women's hockey is kicking it up a notch after a big win against No. 3 Quinnipiac
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Football: following the aftermath of last Saturday, the Eagles have shown that their lingering injuries have yet to subside. With redshirt sophomore RB Jon Hilliman and junior LB Connor Strachan already sitting out against Syracuse, graduate QB Patrick Towles was injured his hamstring on a 75-yard touchdown run and is now listed as day-to-day.
If Towles is unable to make the start against NC State this weekend, the ball will be likely turned over to redshirt sophomore Darius Wade, who has seen action in a few games this season but has not started.
Women's Ice Hockey: After coming off the weekend win against No.3 Quinnipiac 4-1, the Eagles are looking to continue their streak of playing well against strong opponents. One of the standouts of the team this year has been junior defensemen Megan Keller who continues to climb the rankings on the all-time leader board.
Another player that has picked it up is junior goaltender Katie Burt who has seen her workload increase with the loss of some big named players who helped defend her. This past weekend she stopped 40-of-41 shots against Quinnipiac to earn Hockey East Player of the Week.
