GOAL DESCRIPTIONS
FIRST GOAL (1-0 – BC) FIRST PERIOD – Scott Savage – 17:52 – POWER PLAY
• Boston College made quick work of its first power play opportunity of the night after Merrimack's Jonathan Lashyn went off for interference at 17:25. The Eagles won the draw and flung the puck through the zone. David Cotton backhanded a pass out to Christopher Brown on the near boards. Scott Savage carved down from the blue, accepted Brown's pass through the zone and ripped a wrist shot past Drew Vogler for a 1-0 lead 27 seconds into the power play window.
SECOND GOAL (2-0 – BC) SECOND PERIOD – Ryan Fitzgerald – 10:40 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Ryan Fitzgerald called upon his speed to force the puck just over the line to give the Eagles their second strike of the night. Matthew Gaudreau broke up a play in Boston College's end and kicked over to JD Dudek on the far right boards. Dudek quickly relayed the puck to Fitzgerald in strike on the red line and he was off to the races alone. Fitzgerald made a quick move on Vogler and even though he got a piece of it, Fitzgerald's momentum helped carry the puck over the goal line after crashing the net at 10:40 for a 2-0 lead.
THIRD GOAL (2-1 – MC) THIRD PERIOD – Logan Coomes – 1:00 – POWER PLAY
• Casey Fitzgerald was whistled for a late interference call with 15.2 left in the second period and Merrimack cashed in on the carry over power play to start the third. Hampus Gustafsson broke the play out of BC's end and Sami Tavernier was able to trigger on Joe Woll once breaking into the zone. Tavernier's shot trickled back into the crease and Logan Coomes was able to clean up the carom a minute into the third to cut BC's lead in half, 2-1.
FOURTH GOAL (2-2 – MC) THIRD PERIOD – Matheiu Foget – 11:03 – POWER PLAY
• R. Fitzgerald was whacked with a hooking infraction at 10:39 of the third period and the Warriors' Mathieu Foget netted the equalizer at 11:03 on the power play.
